I had a great time in the Pyrenees last weekend. This was in fact my first trip with the Club Excursionista de Gracia which I recently joined. There were 19 people split in to 4 cars as we left Barcelona on Saturday early morning (7:00am) heading to Andorra. After two hours of driving, we stopped in a typical Catalan village for breakfast. I took un bocadillo con tortilla y jamon and un cafe con leche. Delicious
Half an hour later we were back in the car and soon arrived in Andorra. We left the car in a remote parking area, got our gear ready, had a quite bite and started the hike nice and easy. The weather was a great (oh I love Spain so much and don’t really miss Belgian’s rain or Reading’s fog). On Sunday we went to the French side of the Pyrenees in the Font-Romeu area, close to Le Lac des Bouillouses where we went snowshoeing for about 5 1/2 hours. Great experience. The people were super nice and not too picky about the fact that I do not speak Catalan. I want more!!!
